Hi there.......

Anyone have this happen to them? While cruising along with the control set all is well until I happen upon a fairly steep grade. When that happens the car downshifts very abruptly and accelerates rapidly past my selected speed by 5 to 10 mph than settles back down.

This 'only' happens when the car goes from level to uphill.

Not me. Actually, mine is quite the opposite. My IS is very slow to accelerate, most notably when you hit the "resume" button from a lower speed. I don't think I've ever had it downshift on me on the highway at cruise speeds, hill or not. But some of that behavior could be the torque difference between the 250 and the 350.

Mine does that also. It really tries to keep the speed by downshifting. I usually take control when I come to a steep slope. Mine doesn't go over by 10 though, maybe 2-4mph over.

ive only had cruise control on one time on a steep hill... it started doin some dumb stuff... dont really remember but i turned it off and took control.
