I've been looking for a used IS350 in the $25k-$28k price range with 25k-35k miles. I've found quite a bit, most being 2007s with a year of warranty left, but I found this sweet 2006 with the Sport package but the 4-year/50000 mile warranty is up. I made an account on Lexus.com to look up the service history and it looks like all the recalls were done, but none of the TSBs (mirror, aux input, etc). So if I wanted any of those done, it'd be out of my pocket obviously.
So I'm wondering if buying an '06 out of warranty is too risky when I could get an '07 still under warranty? Any '06 owners having trouble with their cars right now? I really like this car and the price is great, but I just want the opinions of CL.

The service info on the Lexus website isn't very detailed though. It will just say "Wheel Tire" on one entry, then "Non-warrantable code" on another. So I really have no idea the specifics what's been done.

My IS350 just had its four year old birthday. Although it only has 30,000 miles.........it has performed flawlessly. My guess is that if the maintenance has been done faithfully an '06 will give you miles of driving pleasure.

I didn't see anything about the cold knock TSB, but since that should be covered under the powertrain warranty, I didn't think much of it.

I would convince myself that the Engine Knock on starting problem was done or you can get it done under warranty. This could be a big problem someday & is expensive to update. Do a search on this forum for more info & get a inspection by a Lexus Dealer before you buy.

I'm not aware of any issue with engine knock on starting. Perhaps the poster is talking about the cam gear problem? (This one https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...d-threads.html ) If so, be aware that most dealers won't perform that TSIB unless they can replicate the noise. Also be aware that many folks who have had the TSIB performed have had the issue return.
