Repeat visits for the same issue?
Has anyone had to bring their car in to Lexus on multiple occasions for the same issue? Were they more accommodating the second (or third) time around?
A couple months ago I brought the car in for a misaligned right headlight. All the sudden one night it started pointing straight up in the air. They told me I should wait while they looked at it, but they couldn't find a tech who "knew" how to diagnose the problem. They wouldn't give me a loaner car b/c I was on my way to the airport and they said it was pointless to give me a car that would sit.
So after my trip I then returned to the dealer and they gave me loaner... 2 days later the car was fixed. Now after about 1,000 miles, the right headlight is pointing at the ground. AFS still works, just vertical placement is wrong.
While this will only be the second time they are working on it, it is actually my 3rd trip to the dealer for the issue. Anyone else had a circumstance where they had to bring their IS in multiple times to fix a seemingly simple problem?

I had that issue but only after hitting a huge pothole.
Easily realigned. Instructions are even in the owners manual so not sure why a trained Lexus tech couldn't handle a simple job.
If you haven't hit a pothole and it keeps happening, I'd make them replace the whole headlight housing. It is OEM?

It's expected that a car will have some issues. As long as the dealership respects my time (and they usually do, in & out in 15-30 minutes pretty often), it's not a big deal - to me, at least.

Leveling sensor on the rear has nothing to do with you hitting a pothole and knocking the headlight out of aim. The leveling sensor controls both; so if you move it up or down they BOTH move up or down from their "current" position. If they aren't aimed properly to begin with, they still wont be.....they'll only be higher or lower......together.

Interesting. The first time it happened there was no pothole incident. Just pulled out of the garage one day and the right light was pointed up.
Oh well, I guess I'll let them deal with it. After all, that's why I bought a car with a warranty!
Thanks guys!

If you return consecutive times for the same issue, you can contact the service manager that you want a new car or the money back paid for the previous repairs or threaten to call BAR(Bureau of Automotive Repair)
They are sometimes obligated to buy the car since they didn't fix it the first time, and charged the second time.
You can also complain if for example a belt went out, or a bad spark plug. Things they are suppose to check and were not checked can be serviced for free.

You're not talking about the "popping" sound, right?
