I installed mine over the weekend, I have to agree with the above. I really don't feel any real difference when turning the wheel, to me it does not feel 'heavy'. However, I do feel a significant difference in vibration which is reduced and makes for a smoother steering feel.

what did everyone use to remove the torx screw. I am trying to use one of those adjustable screwdrivers where you can cnahge the head to a torx, it fits perfectly but its hard as crap to remove because the screw driver is to thick and I cant get a straight angle.

I used a TORX insert bit that I chucked in a 3 inch extension on a small 1/4" drive ratchet. Yes it was very tight. You must use something like this as a screwdriver handle will not give you enough torque to loose the two screws.

Just installed mine today. Took 20 minutes, piece of cake pretty much.

Verdict: I didn't immediately notice the difference but after taking it out for a ride, its an upgrade that is worth it, especially for the price! I notice less vibration through the steering and the car 'feels' stiffer. The steering is more responsive as well, I love it!

Note that I didnt use a ratchet for the steering screws, I just used a torx 30 screwdriver.

I've had steering damper installed, I love it, it smoother than I used to have stock 18" wheels on, and now I am running 20" wheels still smooth, no vibration

Over the weekend, I did my first long drive since I installed the damper. Definitely makes a difference when driving an extended time. Hard to place, but your hands don't seem as "tired". Well worth the effort and expense. Also, for those looking I changed from the factory Potenzas to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+ tires that have been highly recommended on this forum and I agree 100%. Buying tires is always iffy so I look for others experiences to factor into my choice. I highly recommend these tires if you live somewhere like Indiana weather. Excellent traction and quiet at Interstate speeds.

So has anyone confirmed whether or not the GS damper fits in the IS? Just read through the whole thread and couldn't find a straight answer.

Also, I'm reading people saying this was a $25 mod - I'm seeing $35.07 ($26.00 + $9.07 for shipping) with the CL discount. Is that right?

I installed this at the same time as my aftermarket steering wheel about a week ago. I made a point of trying to notice the difference between before and after, and I think the damper does help with minor road vibrations. However, since my coils are set to full stiffness the moderate to big bumps still come through. I don't regret spending the $40 though.
