Default 2009 Navigation Override Doesnt work?

So all the youtube videos and the navigation override that i found on the threads n the forum dont seem to work on the 2009. Anybody else experienced this? There has to be a way without cutting wires or voiding the warranty.

Yes, as long as you are running 5.1 loader such as hybrid dvd

That method hasn't worked on any IS from the factory since 2006.

It only works on the original nav firmware (version 5.1)... I think they're up to 9.1 now.

If you have both discs you can supposedly make a hybrid disc with 5.1 firmware and 9.1 maps, though I'm not sure if it will backlevel a newer version that's already got the newer firmware installed.

The only non-cut option otherwise is the $300 bypass kit... it does the same thing as cutting the wires (which is free) but doesn't cut wires (still requires taking everything apart to install though, and obviously you'd need to remove it before trying to get Lexus to do any warranty work on the electronics)

If your car was previously loaded with newer version of the firmware, you need to reset your navigation unit by unplugging the audio fuse and load with hybrid disc with 5.1 firmware. Navigation override works on my 06 with hybrid disc (version 8.1 plus 5.1 firmware).

Be aware that if you downgrade the firmware, you'll have to press the "I agree" button every time you start the car.

Override wont work with 09. You can NAV HACK or get the plug and play override kit

So i dont wanna do the NAV Hack cause i dont wanna mess up my warranty. What is the plug and play override kit? Where do you get that at and how much is it? Is it hard to install and does it mess with ur warranty?

prestigious society sells kits to over ride the navi. not very hard to install, takes about 20 mins or so. it will run about 300-350 shipped. not cheap but its a better option then cutting wires.

nothing will void your warranty unless they can prove that the part you installed caused the problem. i have the ps kit in my car and i still take it to the dealer.
