Yes I realize that the most important thing is that no one was hurt. That was the first thing I thought after the impact, hey I'm OK and the airbag didn't deploy, lucky me. Then when I found her to be alright without any injuries, I was more relieved. However, it was still an accident that didn't need to occur. I realize that my car will be fixed in the end.

Be glad you don't live in LA, cause the driver would probably be uninsured and drive off and you gotta chase his *** down. That would totally pissed me off even more.

Dang, im glad to hear that you are alright. Its like some of the people on the road get thier drivers license from a cereal box or something. And to think that after HER being at fault, the son would try to scheme such a crazy thing to try to pin it on you. Some people actually get away with it too. Im glad you werent one of them. Good luck to you in the future and I hope you get over your fear of the road.

You called YOUR insurance co, or the other drivers? Your company will not pay. Don't know if diminshed value is recoverable in Toronto, but of course, the other driver's company won't want to pay it.

I just got off the phone with the body shop, the total cost of the repairs will be about $17,000 CAD. OMG that is much more than I expected. There is more damage to some of the parts inside the car than I expected, things like the AC unit and radiator. Thank goodness that other person had real insurance.

Well I picked up my repaired IS 350 yesterday from the dealership. It looks great, I think the paint quality is good except for a couple of things. One, I found a small chip in the pain below the drivers door where it looks like something such as the front fender took some paint off. As well, the rear edge of the hood isn't painted properly, it is rough and not matador red, it is a greyish undercoat type of colour. So unfortunately I have to bring the car back next week for them to fix these things up. It's been raining here so I haven't been able to go over the car carefully. Hopefully I'll have a chance this weekend to make sure there aren't any other deficiencies. I think it should be better than it is although overall, at least the paint match appears good.
