I would not buy a dealer loaner car, they are known to be quite abused. Just ask some of CL members here what they do with a loaner.

my thoughts exactly, funny thing is the salesperson over the phone tried to BS with me that they have some device in the loaner car to monitor driver's driving behavior. i almost broke out and laugh on the phone. i'll email them $26k then we have a deal.

i read on here before that one member push the stop/on button while the car was in motion to see what would happened. otherewise i can imagine the normal things that occur when you get a loaner, romp on it at every street light and attempt to drift in empty parking lots

I would buy a loaner cpo without a second thought. I tend to not follow the general public until I have some proof that the loaner will break before the one owner used car. I havent heard many complaints about people buying loaners and it broke down because it WAS a loaner. But hey, I like to be the OTHER guy. Not really a crowd pleaser!

Good plan. Get $2k off and then use it to get the Flyaudio NAV package from Automax.

My preference is to avoid loaners, especially the ones I've driven lately at my Lexus dealership.

A Lexus dealership loaner is a glorified rental car, nothing more. Yeah, they have a more upscale clientele but when you consider that the IS350 is the "sporty" car of the lineup, I wouldn't be surprised if people brought their RX into service for a day and went nuts in the IS.

The saying goes, "nobody washes a rental car". I should know, I drove a rented Chevy Malibu to the top of Pike's Peak and then dropped it off at the rental counter covered in dust. I'm sure the car has had regular oil changes (~2 by now), also check the tires. The factory tires on my IS350 were bald on the outer edge at 17K miles. If this car has been driven hard and they haven't put new rubber on it, a good inspection of the front's would show that.

This morning I sold my 2007 IS 350, loaded with everything but the best audio system, to a dealer for $28000. It had 13,300.

So to buy one from a dealer............

I was told my CPO 2008 was a Lexus corporate car driven by an exec. Do you think it was really just a loaner? It had a few light scratches but was otherwise very clean.
