I guess I'm lucky since I never had any type of issues until now.
What was bad about your CATS that required them to be replaced? Just curious since I don't have the primary ones any more.

Lexus has issued the same service bulletin with the same symptoms and correction procedure for the top engine clean for the 06 DI GS as well since the 06 did not have the secondary injectors, I believe the engine is basically the same as the IS250s but with a larger displacement.

The carbon build up and related TSB apply to VINs mid-2010 and prior IS250 models.
Despite all the Lexus enthusiasts here, nobody seems to be able to determine what the production change was. One of life's great mysteries.
I'm astounded that nobody has been able to find out what the change was.

Lexus/Toyota issued another recall yesterday for the IS350, but not for this problem. They should be accountable for the carbon-cylinder misfire defect too. Then I'll have 3 recall notices to take with me to the service department

I own an IS350. I had major carbon build up, which caused a cylinder misfire and my checking account to decrease by $1000. This is not an IS250 only problem.
Once again it is very rare for IS350's to have carbon build up. After all the IS250 carbon build up threads it's causing a "non-existing" IS350 carbon build up.
For everyone discussing in this thread or in any other related thread please stick to the topic being the IS250's current issue.
For those that are new, IS250's have been developing carbon in the intake manifolds and in other engine parts due to it's DI (Direct Injection) fuel delivery system. The bigger 3.5l IS350 contains two methods of fuel delivery DI and Port Injection.
Unless someone has a solid case of IS350's having carbon build up and it has been documented by a de-carb at the dealer then share your experience. Until then IS350 owners please stop worrying about carbn build-up on your vehicles.
