Default black vinyl roof removal....

Not to discourage anyone to wrap there roof vinyl bc it looks amazing!!! BUT!!

i removed the vinyl from my roof and after two years of it baking in the sun.. the clear coat had turned yellow.. i have a feeling that it is the glue from the vinyl ... my question is how do i get the yellow off so my roof can turn back to normal. which is white again. has anyone gone through this and have any suggestions.?

Is it sticky? If not, you can try and wet sand it with some 1500 grit sandpaper and finish it with 2000. After that, polish it to remove the sanding marks.

Why did you take it off in the first place?

haha. well my car has been in the shop for awhile so i havn't had time to see how i can fix the problem. My guess would be to let my detailer claybar a few times and try to buff it out. Its not as bad as it seems. I'll get back to ya'll on how things turn out though.

ps. i hope that noone goes and rip off there vinyl roof bc of this.. still a pretty neat mod. =) and if worst comes to worst. i can revinyl or paint it.. im not too concerned.

Also curious to see the yellow caused by the glue. Lets get some pics up. The clay bar seems like a good option at the moment before you decide to do anything drastic. Thanks for the warning.
