You should get a spacer that have a center hub and use hubcentric rings for your wheels. This is the safest way to run spacers, otherwise you are putting all the stress on the stud. Hitting a pot hole will knock off those studs.
The spacers I got did come with hub centric rings...ichiba verision II and to think about it when I drive down to midtown/heights in Houston they have a lot of bumpy and sorry roads. That may have been one of the culprit of my broken studs.
well they aren't hub centric either so all the weight of the car was placed on the lugs, not designed for that. They are the wrong spacer for the application.
I have Ichiba hubcentric spacers installed at the front and I'm sure I've put a great strain on them last year when I've spent a whole day going around a track. I inspect them once a year when I swap wheels for winter and I have not encountered any damage or abnormal wear.
spacers in general are just scary. ive used them on my jetta with no problems but still dont feel 100% comfortable about them. but they do help you get a nice stance, lol. if they were good quality lugs i find it hard to believe you have damaged them by hand. but if you used a gun to tighten and they are cheaply made then I can see the problem. If I were you id consider myself lucky and not use them again.
