if you get tire of matte black, removing the vinyls will be a big issue because then your car will be sticky
there was a thread about a guy removing his black roof and the roof was not in the best of condition when the vinyl was removed

Keep stock! It looks better than matte black IMO.
(Plus, you can pocket the $2500 for other mods or w/e...)

imo, most of it is personal opinion (whether you the OP likes it or not), while the other part is how well it is executed (whether it actually looks like quality job or a hack job).
if you like it, do it. reactions aside, it's your car, it's your call. just remember that there'll always be nay-sayers, haters, and people with negative criticism.
ahhh yes...I stand corrected. Was his license plate "JDM NUB" I thought I remember seeing it somewhere.
But yes he had it painted.

I would not pay that much money for something that I couldn't keep forever

In my opinion Matte black looks really clean if done right- doesn't matter if it's played or not. All depends on what the owner of the car likes.
If I had the money I'd prolly vinyl wrap my car a matte black or matte dark red. =D

I say don't do it! I think your $2500 would be better spent on the 09+ vertex kit
but that is just my opinion.
