I have the same problem too. I don't drive my car much. The last time the battery managed to last 1 week before it died. This time only 2 days. The days are getting shorter and shorter. I drove the car on Thursday for around 2 miles and Mon before that too for around 2 miles and today is Sat and the battery totally died on me.

I have a 2003 IS300 that just did a 60k maintenance. I brought this problem up to the workshop too and they checked my battery and said it was no problem. It is my driving habit.

I never had this kind of problem when I was using my original OEM battery. The problem started after the workshop change the battery to an Interstate and it is only about 1.5 years. What should I do?

I got similar problems with my present car with an unknown history. I got my 2006 isx50 used a couple months ago. It was good for a month, then the alternator failed. First I lost power steering, then radio and lights, then the engine started to stutter and I could barely drive the car to a safe parking lot near my work before arranging for a tow to an auto shop. That's when I learnt that the alternator failed. After replacing that alternator, the battery died and I had to jump every morninh. So I thought it had to be the battery. I replaced that with a new unit but it kept draining still. It could have held a charge for hours before, but the drain got progressively worse and it won't even start if I park my car for more than 10 minutes. I took my car to 4 shops before it was diagnosed; the ECM was faulty and drawing 2 amps.

I have a feeling that I will have to replace the ECM and there is still more trouble underneath that I haven't discovered yet. I live at Long beach and work at San Pedro. If you guys know a place where they can do ECM work (would probably need dealership level scan equipment) around my area, please let me know.

Ok, so a week ago I was driving at night and all the lights inside started flashing and outside ones went out completely. Car died, jump started took it home pulled alternator and battery to be tested. Battery 2 months old completely dead, alternator fine. Two days later go to get in it and new battery dead. Exchanged the battery put voltage meter on, all good. Next day, battery dead again. Put on charger and made it 3 blocks, at night using lights; all lights went out and car died again. Yesterday exchanged battery again checked voltage etc...so drove home pulled the positive cable for over night. Everything was fine today, UNTIL Was driving home and noticed the turn signals front and back not working and the small oval headlights next to large ones don't come on either. All bulbs, relays and fuses checked and good. (Sorry so long but may help someone) Anyway we have suspected a short that was somehow draining the battery every time I used the headlights. Does anyone have experience with this? Also the gear shift no longer illuminates nor does the cluster on dash light up to let you know which gear you're in!!! I'm thinking wiring harness to lighting system...HELP

What alternator did you install? Is it brand new OEM, Denso, remanufactured, or no name white box?

We put the same alternator back on, it tested good and is an original OEM. My problem is somewhere in the wiring to the lights. As long as I don't use headlights/drive at night the car runs great all day and starts on first push of the button

I had my car in and out of service because of my battery and I only had 600 miles on my F-Sport. On the 3rd visit, they determined I had a defective battery and replaced it. Lexus of Seattle kept saying how the ES does not just have the typical issues of other cars, like a defective battery Well, that assumption went out the door.

Do a search for Parasitic Drain. It takes a current meter measuring low amps to detect.
The process to install such a meter is without damaging it is critical as simply connecting the battery has a high inrush current so care must be taken...

For those of us who've had battery issues with recently purchased '20s, perhaps the Kentucky plant received a batch of bad batteries.

My '16 IS350 started doing this about 2 months ago, driving me nuts. It doesn't matter if I have driven the car or not, I drove it nearly 2 hours yesterday and today it's dead again and sitting on a trickle charger as we speak.

I need to take it to the dealership soon, I think the basic warranty expires in August.

If the car is in warranty, take it to the dealership. No need to mess around with it.
