I agree! So what I did (this was my first mod on my 09 IS) I made custom red outs to get rid of the Nike tail lights. 
It was a pain to do, but here is the result. 
This is a very old picture (taken 2 weeks after I purchased my IS). My rear setup looks totally different now, it's more aggressive looking!
