Okay, I'm sticking with springs (since I already own an F-Sport set) and no, there would be no modding to my fenders...

F-Sport on springs, if I do buy the coils I will just come back ;-)

^ given that you don't want fender mods, no aggressive wheel specs for you.

19 x 8.5 + 225/35-19: offset in the mid 30's
19 x 9.0 + 265/30-19: offset in the mid-to-high 30's

anything lower than those offsets, and you'll need fender mods.

go lower (i.e. coilovers), and you'll be looking at fender mods.

go with wider wheels, and you'll need more conservative offsets. or you can go w/ the same offsets and look at fender mods.

see a pattern developing?

projectdna, let's see if I got this right... the lower the offset the likely chance of a fender mod?
the wider and lower the offset = possible fender mod
If go lower I would need fender mods? I'm guessing to prevent rubbing on top right?

lower offsets, wider wheels, and lowered cars mean you mod your fenders

rough standard limits of stock fenders are ~about (18,19,20)8.5/9.5+30 (225/xx/1X) <tires> (235/xx/1X) 7mm less aggressive for meaty tires

not that I don't have the patience to thoroughly explain to you the need for fender modifications, but since you've ruled them out, to save everyone the time and effort i recommend that you find out what the specs for the staggered f-sport 19" set-up are, and copy them for your proposed forgestar set-up.

or...

you can contact forgestar yourself and ask them to help you figure out what your wheel/tire specs should be. they've worked with a few 2is's before (five, actually - see their blog), and should be able to provide you with what you're looking for.

^^^ sweet man, I think I got a grasp of it and I know this is more complex than the few post I have read so far, but I do appreciate the time to answer my questions.

Gil, not sure if this is the fitment you're aiming for but as an example I'm running:

F: 18x9 +35 235/40/18
R: 18x9 +25 235/40/18

I'm currently on the stock sport pkg suspension. The wheels sit what I'll call daily flush aka wheels are perpendicular to the ground and the outer lips line up with the outer edges of the fenders. At this height no fender mods are necessary nor are there any fitment issues. You can use this as a base to see what width and offsets you want.

Is250 on f-sport springs

wheel specs: Size 19x9.5 +22 19x8.5 +23

How much fender work will I need and what tire sizes should I run?

that's a very useful template for stock ride height, but mind you, GilIS250 is looking into lowering springs or coilovers, which lowers the ride height and effectively wheel/tire-to-fender clearance. that renders your wheel specs less desireable due to the possible need for fender modifications.

i haven't done the math yet, but i'm sure those rears are aggressive enough that it'll need fender modifications. i doubt the fronts would need it, though.

Currently on stocks. I'm lowered to no finger gap all around, but I'm about to lower my rear to even the drop out once I put my new wheels on.

19 x 8.5 +30
19 x 9.5 +40

Hankook Ventus Evo V12 K110
225/40-19
255/35-19

No rolled fenders.
Will I rub? :P

Thanks!

no, though i'm not sure why you're not running 225/35-19 in the front instead of its taller 40-series counterpart.

I'm planning to get the Works wheel VS-XX. Below the the offset:
20x9+23 (R disk) 59mm (2.32") & 20x10.5+13 (O disk) 109mm lip (4.29").
I know a lots of member here already have this VS-XX wheel so I believe you guy can help me to confirm this.
Will this offset clear on the IS350? Car has fender cut.
If not what I need to do to make it fit?

What if I run 235/35-19 and 265/30-19? Will I rub with 19x8.5 +30 and 19x9.5 +40? currently no fender gap, or credit card gap on stockies. Planning on lowering the rear a bit more to even the drop out.

Also, what exactly happens to ride height when you go from 18s to 19s?

Thanks!

i don't know if those disk specs will clear is350 calipers.

having said that, those wheel specs will require a bit more work to fit. since the fenders are shaved, you can't roll them (there's no extra fender sheetmetal to roll into the fender itself), and you can't pull the fenders while you're rolling (see previous).

it might work, but the rears are considerably more aggressive than what your fenders can accomodate.

i'd opt for 225's in the front given those wheel specs, just to be on the safe side.

ride height remains roughly the same, but tire selection becomes more important since there's more "wheel" that takes up space in the wheel wells.

it's fine. just check if they'll clear the brake calipers.
