if your rear tires barely clears the inner fender/fender liner w/out spacers, imagine what happens when you push the wheels/tires out by 5mm.
all due respect, i don't particularly care to explain it. at the end of the day, it's up to you. if you really want to put on a set of 5mm spacers and find out, help yourself. i've already advised against it, so either play it safe or prove me wrong. if you're lucky, you won't have issues. if you're not, "i told you so".
thanks for reading.

^^ likely.
given that IS250TW has the AWD variant of the 2is, and that he's running 8.5"-wide wheels in the rear, it's safe to guess that he's running a square wheel set-up, and also most likely a square tire set-up as well.
as far as sizes, he's either running 225/35-19 or 235/35-19, since it's got to clear the front. on a 8.5"-wide wheel, neither are a stretch, meaning the sidewalls will be more upright (moreso on the 235 than 225).
given 19x8.5" +30, that's a full 20mm more aggressive than oem 18's (18x8.5 +50). a 5mm spacer will lower the offset to +25 (that's about a full inch, for you non-metric people). if he's not stretching tires (as it's likely that he isn't), the shoulders and the sidewalls are lined up right on the same plane as the inside edge of the fender and fender lining.
all it takes is some suspension compression, and voila! instant rubbage.
am i making a few assumptions here? of course. taking a few liberties here, but that's given what i've seen on other AWD 2is's, and i doubt that IS250TW is running some rare set-up specs that hasn't been seen/heard-of.

[QUOTE=projectdna;6982934]will it fit unmodified 2is wheel wells without clearance issues (front and rear)? yes.
will it clear brake calipers (front and rear)? likely.
Thanks projectdna!
Can I run coilover after this setup?

it's amazing what you can find using the search function and the key word "LFA" in THIS thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/6881537-post2892.html
so to answer your question regarding spacers to clear brake calipers, no, you will not need spacers.
thanks for reading.

on a related note, fitment isn't just about wheel offset but also wheel width. 8.5/9.5 set-ups w/ low offsets are more common than you think. the only reason you don't see them on IS-F's is because, well, why would anyone run such aggressive offsets on an F? completely takes away from the pure purpose of the F. plus, it's not like you can run square sidewall tire sizes either...
but if the offset number is the most important thing to you, then you can go pat yourself on the back. "cool story, bro."

I know, I know, I should get 19's and I eventually will. But for now I want to use my brand new (free from dealer) tires. They are 225/40 and 255/40 18's. I want to get some Forgestar F14's in 18x8.5 +35 front and 18x10 +40 rear. Would my tires work and how would they look? How would the offset look? I am on F-sport springs. Thanks

there's nothing wrong with choosing 18's over 19's. people who tell you otherwise haven't really assessed the pros and cons of doing so.
your tires will work, and you should have a more aggressive stance without the need for modified fenders. on thing about forgestar is that they will usually recommend offer wheels w/ specs that are unmodified-fender-friendly.

So...I'm thinking about picking up a set of 745i wheels for my 2006 IS350 (lots of guys with 2GS running them). Found a re-drilled set and I'm thinking about doing it, but I have two questions:
1) They are 19x9 +24 (F) and 19x10 +24 (R), so for tires could I fit 225/35/19 and 245/35/19 respectively? Or am i better off with 215/35/19 and 235/35/19? I am not new to doing fender work, so I'm completely ok with that.
2) My MAIN concern is that they might not clear the front brakes. Anyone have experience with this? I have searched and searched and I could not find a single IS running these wheels.
Thoughts?

2) most low-offset wheels have clearance for BBK's, but that may not always be the case.

I can answer because I have 19X9.5 +36 in the rear which equals 19X8.5 +24 and I have no rubbing at all.
It depends on your tire size as well. I run 255/35/19 on 9.5 which is minimal stretch. If you run your wheel with 235/35/19 + 5mm spacer on your rear, I think it should be clear.

Have you heard of this company Avant Garde? Are they reputable?
And last but not least would these fit? I think i will need to run a spacer for the front?
The fronts are 20x9 (+34 offset) and the rears are 20x10 (+37), 245/35 up front and 275/30 in back
