Wheel specs: Front 19x8.5 +30, Rear 19x10 +38

Tires: Front 225/35/19 or 235/35/19...Which of these will have the minimal amount of strech?
Rear 255/35/19 or 265/30/19...Which of these will have the minimal amount of strech?

Does it also matter on what tire brand? Some don't strech more than others?

It's gonna be lowerd on coils with no-1" gap for IS250

Thank you very much Projectdna!

FYI, none of those tire sizes and their respective wheel widths are considered "stretch" sizes.

for max clearance, see bolded.

as far as tire brand, i have no preferred brand/model i can recommend. (you're not even stretching tires, so it doesn't matter.)

Really!!?? I just thought since for the oem rears which are 18x8.5 and use a 255/40/18 tire, that if you use a 225 or 235 on a 19x8.5 rim, there might be a stretch. Thanks for the info PROJECTDNA!

all tires have a certain "safe" range of wheel widths that will work. 225 and 235 will be fine on a 8.5"-wide wheel. the sidewalls may not be as upright, but it's well within the "safe" range.

each tire may have a different "safe" range, and typically when your proposing to run a tire outside of its maximum safe range will the tires be stretched and obviously unsafe.

and in case all of that made for too much reading, just know this. 225 and 235 are safe on an 8.5"-wide wheel. ask me how i know.

Slightly, but no one gave a definitive answer. We all know the 265/30 will fit no problem but ideally I'd prefer a slightly thicker tire (275/30). Just not positive if it will cause issues given my wheel specs of 19x9.5 et35.

seems everyone who was actually addressing your first post was recommending 265's.

i'd say that's pretty "definitive".

or you want to put up a poll and find out?

rear:
no spacers

Thanks for all your help ProjectDNA! One last question - are the tire sizes and spacers you specified only appropriate for stock height? I'm planning to drop the car 2-3" using Megans and don't want to do any fender mods. Thanks!

I posted this in the Vossen thread but I should have asked here.

If I get CV3s (20s) and use coils to have almost zero wheel gap (or maybe 1 finger gap all around), would I be considerably lower to the ground compared to being at stock height on 18s? Im referring to the distance between the bottom of my car and the ground. My car is RWD btw. Sorry if I worded this kinda of werid.

what i spec'd out based on what you're looking for isn't just for stock ride height.

if anything, you should consider 255/35-19's (vs. 2665/30-19) in the rear to make sure that you won't have clearance issues with unmodified fenders.

And by that you mean that the height difference between the two will be very similar so it will not be noticable enough? For example if someone who is not really into cars would not be able to tell the height difference between a 2IS with 18s on stock height and another 2IS with 20s and lowered between zero and 1 finger gap? I apologize in advance if Im being difficult

correct.

you'd basically have to break out a measuring tool to be able to tell the difference.

anyone who says they can do it just by looking at it is (most likely) lying.
