Hey guys, I've got an is350 so I've got them big front brakes. I'm looking at a few different sets of wheels at the moment that are within my price range but I wanna check if there would be any clearance issues cause I know the front brakes in these cars can sometimes cause issues with wheel fitment and I don't really know enough about wheel fitment to be confident in buying blind. My car is the L riding at stock height. I don't really have any intention of lowering it at this stage so that's not much of a concern.

The first set I'm looking at are some staggered work emotions, 17x8 +32 offset, and 17x9 +38 offset.

The second set are some square advans, 18x8.5 +50 offset.

What do you guys think?
Cheers

2008 IS350

285/30R19 Hankook Ventus EVO2 on a 19 x 9.5j (+35 offset) in the rear.

Does it fit?
YES IT DOES

Not the most glamerous pics and I will update this post with better ones in future but this is a setup I've had a hard time finding online. The most I've seen people do is a 275/30R19 or a 275/35R19.

My fender mods to fit the 285/30:
- Just rolled the guard lip flat. I have about 3 - 4mm of clearance between the tire and guard lip.
- It does rub on the fender liner when going over big dips in the road so that shouldn't be much of a problem to rectify with a heat gun to push it back a bit. '
Otherwise that's the only issue I'm facing. I reckon if you have passengers in the rear it will rub more. Lucky I don't allow anyone back there. It's only me and my lady

As I say I'll update this post with better pics when the car is clean.

PS* My tire setup is not complete. I'm going to fit 245/35R19 tire in the front which is also 19 x 9.5j wheel. It should better match the rear. This current front tire in the below images are 235/35R19's.
I've deliberately overexposed the images so anyone can have a better view of the tire and how it sits. Often times images are so dark you don't get a good idea of how tire fitment looks.
Hopefully this will be helpful to anyone willing to try a similar setup.

Looks sharp. I like your choice of wheels.

Thanks. Was a long wait for them (almost 3 months) as they came in from Australia but it was worth it in the end

Hi guys,

After a year of ownership, I am finally deciding to buy some new wheels in the new year.

The setup I am looking at is

18 x 8.5 +28 front with 235/40/18
18 x 9.5 +35 rear with 265/35/18

I think the rears should fit just fine, I am concerned about the fronts. Will they rub or should I try and find something maybe 8.5 +35 for the front? Car is also lowered.

TIA

Default First time after market purchase questions

Hi all,

I Have a RWD 2012 IS250. The suspension is not modded and I don't plan on it. My questions:

I was going to purchase Konig Oversteers in 19x8.5+ 20 for front and 19x9.5+30 for rear. What tires will fit and look good and if so, is there any clearance problems without mods to fenders? I just want to replace the OEM 18s that are faded and chipped with these wheels.

THanks in advance for your help.
