I agree that the HIDExtra kits aren't of the best quality, but for $50 for a complete set, you really can't expect much, nor knock em'. I'd say they sure beat regular halogen bulbs.

Alot of it is because of the projector vs reflector housing.
The projector pix from ANY hid kit ive seen usually appear to have a higher color temp.
+ if you use the d4s bulbs, they are a different shape//type//manuf process than the h11 ones used in a conversion kit.
Right there are 2 reasons it would be tough to match them.

I find if people have factory halogen for headlights + fogs, then they buy the h11 conversion kit and the fog conversion kit. The colors usually match up no problem.
But as soon as someone replaces their factory d4s hids, the color gets all messed up when comparing to the aftermarket fogs.

Just my 2 cents of what ive been reading here+honda forums so far!
