Default Big A$$ Turkey Flew In To My IS

Hey guys. Yesterday morning on my way to work I was driving down the normal two lane road I take doing about 55 mph and all of a sudden out of the left corner of my eye, I see this HUGE turkey flying straight for my car. Luckily I did not swerve...just slowed down, but it was no help...he flew right in to my drivers side mirror and then it (and the bird) literally exploded. There were turkey guts all over the window and feathers. I pulled over and picked up the mirror and luckily there wasn't more damage. The chrome strip along the window sill was dented so the dealer is replacing that and the mirror. Should be about $600.00. Such a pain. I drove home that way to see if he was on the road and he wasnt...my dark side wanted to put him out of his misery in the loaner HS250 they gave me at the dealer if he had been. Here are some pics, it's all I got before dropping it at Lexus...look out for those turkey's on the road guys!

Dang sucks for your car and the turkey. I didn't know there were wild turkeys in CA. Unless CA stands for Canada.

damn! wild turkey exploding sounds like it had rice or something. im pretty sure rice or grains might lead to it blowing up. sucks for the bird, but good to hear you're doing alright.

Also having the TSIB on the F-Sport springs done on my car so that is the reason for the loaner...luckily had that to fall on!

We have those wild turkeys where I live and I'm surprised I don't see more dead ones in the form of road kill. But the speeds in neighborhood are under 40mph so people tend to miss them I guess.

seriously, yesterday and today i almost hit birds.

Yesterday was more scary than today, i must have missed cracking my windshield and my face by a qtr sec. and inches.

On the 405 south near Torrance nonetheless. WTF.

Today I swear it was the same suicidal bird flying low to get me today. WTF this is so cal and the freeway, i've never seen this crap my whole life.

Ya I don't get it. It's the same with deer around here. When you see a huge, white, fast moving object....even with a brain the size of a walnut, don't you say, "wow, I probably shouldn't cross the road right now"...?
