I'm looking forward to the pics. Based on the investment in mods, it's a bit early to be thinking about a trade.

If it's not stretching your budget then get the F. If you get the 350 you'll be happy for a while but then the F will always be in the back of your mind. IMO you may end up spending LESS in mods with F than you will with your 350.

cant you supercharge the 250 or 350?

Either get the F or keep the 250.

But definitely get the F, there's not a lot of F around town.

I say F%$^ it. Get the 350. I can't believe you didn't test drive the 350 before jumping on the 250. Anyways, if you feel that way about the 250 being too slow, I'm sure the 350 should suffice that lead foot urge just enough to not get you in trouble. IMO theres just not enough street for the F. Of course everyone is gonna say get the F, it's freakin awesome, albeit a little overkill, but we also do realize the 350 is just right.

Thats for sure, exactly 2 months ago I looked for a white IS-F...none in east coast. still looking cant find one. I am prolly gonna keep my 250 for few months, enjoy the mods that I did and buy a F. You guys always been very help full. I will post pics next week when the kit is painted..

well bro at that time there were not too many IS350's near my area and plus money was a factor too since hp dint matter then...I can surely live with 250 but 350 is nice and F is a beast.

Not really.

It'd cost more to add FI to a 250 than it would to get a 350 and you'd only add half as much power as going to the 350.

It'd be marginally cheaper to supercharge a 350 compared to buying an IS-F, but again less power and reliability (and the F has a better transmission too)

To the original poster, I'd get the 350.

My last car was considerable faster and more powerful than an IS-F, and I'm perfectly happy with the 350 as my daily driver.

The performance difference from 250->350 is very large (about 2 full seconds both 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile)... and the cost difference is relatively small

The performance difference from 350->F is much smaller (about 0.5 seconds in each) and the cost difference is twice as large.

Don't worry about what you've "already spent" in mods that won't transfer, that's a sunk cost, you're not getting it back no matter what you do.

Here's what I did:

1. Think about what you want in a car and what you will be using it for (i.e. daily driver, pleasure/weekend car). I know this seems like a no-brainer, but I think we all are guilty of getting memorized by a vehicle, and eventually the sparkle wears off (or subsides). You should have a vehicle that not only memorizes you, but meets your needs/desires for the next few years.

2. I listed the advantages and disadvantages of the 350 vs. the F. Everything from performance, to maintenance costs, to gas mileage, to price. Both of these vehicles have their advantages and disadvantages.

3. Drive them both. I loved the F, but there are a few 350's that have beaten IS-F's at the track (search YouTube). The F definitely has more skillz, but note where that performance difference is. Could you live with that difference?

Personally, I love the F, but there was no way I could justify the extra ~20k + "upkeep". It's not a matter of having the money (I could have swung the purchase). I just still believe in value even in shopping for a luxury brand, and I really believe the F should start somewhere in the 45-50 range as opposed to 58k (if you Google this topic you'll also find that many auto mags also believe the actual cost difference between the two vehicles are around 10k (retail), so imho it should be *similar* to the price gap between the 250 and 350.)

Having said all that, I like the IS-F. I'm not a big fan of the hump in the hood, but when they are two years into the redesign of the F (which is when I usually try to buy my vehicles), I'll probably be looking for a new car, so I'll definitely consider The IS-f again.

Good luck with your decision; In all honesty I think you'll be happy whatever route you choose.

Should analysis paralysis set in, you can just stick to what you have which is a very nice IS250.

The IS350 is the best value IMO. Best of luck.

Probably gonna get flack for this but hey, just throwing this out there. If I was gonna spend over 50k on a car like the IS-F there are other options. ie. a Z06.

I say get the F. If you even considered it in the first place then just max out your option. This is one of the reasons I am glad I outgrew my speed demon days. I spend my money on other hobbies instead of may car which i know will be gone in less than 3 years for something else. If you really can afford the F, then FTW!!

I say do what I did! I had an IS250 for a year, I also thought I wouldnt need the extra HP because I would just be driving in traffic and in the city, plus the gas mileage was better.... and then on day I drove the 350, I was hooked. I traded in my 250 for a 350, but I also didnt have NAV on my 250 either so it was like getting a whole new car...

I dont regret it one bit, cost me about 4k more, but I got a newer one and love the extra HP everyday i drive!

Plus getting the 350 you can easily save all the money on the mods you already paid for! seems like a no-brainer to me!

If you get the F, keep in mind that car is not the best daily driver... brakes go out every 12k miles and gas mileage is really bad...

350 FTW!!!

Then go and watch those youtube videos of IS350's beating the F at the track lol...
