Default Check VSC, Check Engine, and Traction Control lights came on among other things.

I did a search and saw a couple threads about this. Has anyone figured out the real answer to the problem?

My 06 IS250 has about 69K miles on it. The other day I stopped at a red light, and when I started to drive forward, it hesitated, the CEL light came on, the car was sputtering along, Check VSC showed up on the dash, and the TC light was on. I pulled over into a parking lot even though the car was driving at reduced power. Put the car in park, turned it off, re-started it, and it hasn't occurred since.

I would hate for this to happen on the highway or when I'm making a left turn across traffic.

Recommendations?

none so far.....you've got a stock intake? Make sure ALL of your vacuum hoses and maf sensor connections are good.

The reduced power bit has only happened to me once and lexus didnt know what to make of it. I think its a VERY sensitive maf sensor, to tell you the truth.

My recommendation would be to have someone read the DTC codes that were stored when the check engine light came on. The code or codes should help diagnose what is wrong. If you live near an AutoZone, they'll read the codes for free. Then come back and post them here.

There's no "real answer" to this. There's an infinite number of possiblities that can cause these lights to come on. Read why here. As you can see, ALL of those systems work with each other and if any one of them finds a reason to complain, it could cause several different lights on your dashboard.

The only "real answer" is to get the DTC codes read as Ben said above. Only that will reveal the exact causes of the lights going off.

I had the same exact issue on my drive to work one morning .When i left work in the evening the car was running like normal . I went home checked the codes and their was no history of the car throwing a code . Took the car to the dealer they found nothing even though i took video on my phone to show them what was happening and they couldn't produce the issue . again . 10k miles later my car is running fine and the issue never came back .

hmmm thats weird you say its not the gas cap because whenever the VSC is tripped in the 3GS, 9 times out of 10 its the gas cap.

Im wondering if this has happened to any IS350??? I have a 350 and it seems that I would just have to restart the car if i ever encountered the problem.

I have a 2001 Ls 430. I took it to jiffy lube awhile back and after the service my check engine light came on. so took it back to another jiffy lube and they put the code reader on it and could not fix the problem. after he pulled the code reader out my vsc and warning light came on. called lexus and they want 140 bucks just to look at it. to tell me my 02 sensor is out. I have 79k miles on it . it all started after the jiffy lube service. anyone know a fair Mechanic in the van nuys area ? want to get the codes turned off. Thanks.

Ive reemed on that gas cap so it definitely cant be the gas cap altho i wish it was haha. My buddy's brother owns the Toyota in my town and told me his code readers couldnt read my lexus and I argued with him that all cars after 1996 have to be OBD2 certified. This true?

i got the same problem couple month ago, and I took it to the dealer. they found out that the carbon built up in the engine. they cleaned it, and everything is fine now.
