Honestly, its just a budget thing. I wish the 250 had more power, but it's my DD and I am stuck in rush hour traffic 80% of the time I drive. No need for performance upgrades or that $5000 for the power in my situation. I like to think of that $5000 as my reserve for visual upgrades .

This is the exact reason why I went with the 350. I also came out of a GSR. Yes, the 250 has an extra 30 hp over the GSR, but it is also a lot heavier. I figured if I was upgrading my car, why bother getting something that is only just as quick or maybe even slower.

This is a good point. That extra 100 hp that the 350 has over the 250 doesn't make a difference when you're going 5 mph in rush hour traffic.

I wanted a 250 stick when I was purchasing my car... but the dealers(4 of them) couldn't find one in the state of CA with navi on it (at the time)... so i ended up getting a 350... told myself if i was gonna get auto might as well go with the 350... hehe

For me, the 250 was the easy choice - I commute almost 100 miles a day. Even with the 250, gas is about $25-2700 a year ($50 a tank, tank a week * 52 weeks). I figure I'm saving somewhere around $4-600 a year on top of the difference in sticker prices. More money for mods

250 less money for gas
350 more money for acceleration

get a 350. i have a 350 and i live in connecticut. i put some snow tires on i got for 750 total at town fair tire here. its not as good as awd but it drives like a fwd camry (i know i have an 07 camry). also how do people say the gas mileage is different? i've owned an 08 250 awd and now have a 06 350. i get the same gas mileage and both cars. now that it is warm i'm averaging 27 a tank in my 350 same as i did in my 250. what do you guys do 100mph??? i cruise control at 70 most of the time. the power is good to have when i need it and to have a little fun here and there. get a 350 no gas change unless you drive agressive 100% of the time. and snow tires will solve your problems

You live in cali, get a 350 lol, the way i see it the only reason to get a 250 is for the AWD or Stick, if you live in a state that sees no snow get a 350

There's more than a few northern IS350 owners here who've had no trouble in the snow with good snow tires on their cars.

AWD is vastly, vastly, over-rated. People got around fine without it most of the last century.

And yeah, the mileage difference is tiny (about 10% comparing RWD to RWD, almost 0 comparing AWD 250 to RWD 350), the hp difference is huge (50%).

Get the 350.
