I got rear ended on 3/31 involving three cars, i'm the first car ![Crying](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/Peace.gif)
its nothing big, but still..

and i just got back from the insurance estimate (the third car's, which is 100% at fault)
gave me an estimate of 460.59 for repairing that
but seriously, I would like a new bumper instead of repairing that
would it be okay if i went to the lexus dealer for repairing and quote the insurance for a new bumper? (or at least repair at the dealer)
because i know everything's going to cost more at the stealer
what if the quote from the dealer is higher than the insurance's quote?
will they pay for it?
any suggestions?

Generally, the person doing the repair has to be a certified shop by that particular insurance company in order for them to honor the price. But I guess it doesn't hurt to try. If you get a decent shop to do the work you wouldn't ever be able to tell the difference between that and a new bumper anyways.

That's not bad. Could been worse. How's was. The second car? If it goes to a good shop u will never be able to tell... gonna suck if u ever try to sell it though. That's what happen to me. Luckly the dealership didn't bother to check till after I got my new car like a week later.

im sorry to hear man! a good, reputable shop will be able to fix that, but it looks more scuffed than actual denting- not sure if it'd be worth it to get an entirely new bumper. but if you can get a brand new bumper out of this minor incident, that'd be pretty sweet. best of luck!

if they are replacing the bumper, then just get the is f bumper. according to a few others who have done the swap, the cost for the is f bumper is very similar to the is X50 bumpers. DO IT. lol
