Default Driver's seat making a clicking sound.... help...

Did several searches here, but came up with nothing. I've noticed for a few months now, my driver's seat makes a intermitten clicking sound when the car rebounds over bumps or ruts. Trying to reproduce it has been tough, but if I press back on the seat and rock a bit, I can sometimes get it to happen. Other times, it just clicks with freeway hop. Seems to be more when colder out. I'm about to take it soon, but wondering if anyone has the same and where it may be coming from? My best guess is somewhere where the seatback meets the seat bottom or somewhere where the seat mounts to the floor. Thing is driving me nuts, being the rest of the car is silent. Any ideas?

had a similar issue with my driver's seat, was rattling over bumps and such. I took it in, was fixed under warranty. I don't remember exactly what it was but I think it was a defective seat rail. They had to order the part so I had to bring it back a 2nd time once the part came in. Problem is gone.

Good info and I thank you! Was yours a clicking or clunking sound or a higher pitched rattle? Mine is definitely a click. Seat rail has been one of my two guesses. What year is your car? Did it do it all the time? I get it about 20% of the time. Not sure how my dealer is going to respond if they can't get it to happen.

it's been a while, but I think it was more of a clunk. Almost sounded like the seat was shifting a little/not properly secured. By the time I took it in it was doing it pretty regularly. I have a 2006.

I'd wait until it happened pretty regularly, because like you say it's hard to convince the dealer that something needs fixing if you can't demonstrate it to them. I had to take them on a drive to show it to them, once they could hear it and replicate it, they committed to fixing it.

Theres a tsb for this. They cut a pin or something underneath the seat. I forget. But I dont see the reason to order a part for this. It's a common problem. All the tech does is cut something so it stops the noise
