Default New pics with my new camera!

Well Im going on a trip to cuba at the end of the month and I decided to get myself a half decent camera. I would love one of those DSLR cameras but theyre atleast 500 bucks and try putting one of those in your pocket haha. My new camera has this pretty cool panorama setting that seems like if in the right place you could take some really neat pics. Anyways heres some pics of my car I took today, enjoy!

3rd shots the best. :P Nice color choice..you dont need an expensive camera to take good pics. Half the pics i take i usee my droids 5mp camera. You just need to do some small editing to make them look like some DSLR quality pics. Heres a quick edit i did of your pic. I think i sat. it too much, but you get the idea

I was thinking about a DSLR but is the picture quality worth the extra money? what are the major differences between a a dslr and a point and shoot?

besides being able to change lenses, the biggest difference is the size of the sensor. A DSLR has a much bigger and better sensor, so it will have better contrast, color, detail, and low-light sensitivity. Low-light shots are where you see the biggest difference though. If all you take are outdoor bright shots a point and shoot is going to work just fine. Indoor and dark shots is when the p&s starts to lose out to the DSLR.

he beat me to it. A point and shoots sensor are also constantly exposed to light as opposed to a SLR which relys on a lense reflex (DSLR = digital single lense reflex)

DSLR's also offer ease of ajustment when shooting. Factors such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed are all a click away making fine tuning easier. Shooting in RAW and using photo editing software offers a wider range of options when enhancing your images to fit your taste.

a buddy of mine picked up a nice cannon kit from costco at a decent price. not exactly something youd see a wedding photographer use, but you really gotta ask yourself if you really need all that when purchasing one.

I personally like nikons (D7000) for quality and Sony's for ease of use and durability, but the cost between the two are a matter of a couple grand.

Look around and do some research before buying one to ensure you find one that fits you...if you have any questions on a particular one, PM me and id be more than happy to help
