I do Have aftermarket HIDs but i have had them for a yr and if the magnet was the problem this should happen every time the ballast are activated but it dosen't a magnet is going to interfere with the a circuit every time not just once. take a strong enough magnet close to your TV and it will mess with it everytime not just once. Atleast thats what i think.
The Wheel jerks pretty hard and you have to be Quick its sudden.
I was lucky that i was in the right lane so no cars to the right of me. and there was a emergency lane before the ditch or i would have ended up in the ditch rolled over.
And Extremly lucky that it didn't go to the left or i would have gone into a SUV head on.

Guys seriously the recall on the GX470 is garbage...Consumer Reports say that the SUV is highly to roll over on a high speed turn IF the car slides and hits a curb!...NO DUH! (wouldn't this happened to ALL SUV's), and thats why they put the Caution stickers on the sun visor about roll overs!...Although the NHTA has not received any complaints or has Consumer Reports. Here is the video from Yahoo!

Humm, I have my hids installed like all the others on here as well. There is not many other places to install the ballast that I could see. I bought my HID kit from HIDextra? Any others having steering problems with this kit? what HID where used when the issue occurred?

Watch this video of another member's steering going crazy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn0B2lpzSlc
And read his entire thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ering-out.html
He concluded that it was caused by aftermarket HIDs. Were your lights on when this happened? I guess we can only know for sure if you turn your lights off while it is happening and the steering wheel goes back to normal.

my lights were on auto and they had kicked on when i started the car. i keep my lights on auto all the time and they turn on and off as they are suppose too but never before has it done this.
I took the car for a spin this morning turning the lights from off to on to back off and nothing happened this time.
