My mom owns an is350 x package. it has the 5 spoke rims. the car is currently in for servicing and they had said every 25,000 miles the tires need to be changed. They had said that the wires in the tires are exposed.

just 2 months ago i took all the tires off to clean them and i swear they had more than 50 percent tread on them.

is this possible? or do i smell bs?

and its not like my mother smokes the tires at ever light.

what do you guys think?

25000k on the stock tires, the wire could very well be exposed, especially since they are such crap stock tires. what i would do is get under the car and take a look at it myself. Our car is known for really bad inner tire wear, so it could be possible that from looking outside the tire looks fine, i suggest you turn the wheel all the way to check the inner tire wear

as soon as you get new tires tho, get an alignment, factory toe settings need to be adjusted, they detroy the inside of tires

I've seen them severely worn at 15,000 miles, so 25,000 miles is pretty damn good.

all the above is talking about front tires. rear tires should wear normally & last twice as long as the fronts

25k miles is about when I HAD to change out my tires. The front tires are the first set to go.
