Default how to clean f-sport air filter??

i assume you just spray it through with water? not quite sure and cant seem to find this topic through search, can anyone help me i need to clean it soon

If you look at the brochure:

the part number for the cleaning solution is PTR03-53085

is that stuff needed? or can it be cleaned just by running it through water

I got the kit, it contains 2 bottles of un-labeled soap.

It's similar to K&N cleaning kit which they sell at auto stores. One is a cleaning solution that you spray on and let sit. Second, you run water through it and all the dirt comes off. Second solution is the oil you spray after it's clean.

The f sport cleaning kit does not come with any oil, and F-sport air filter is a dry air filter that does not need oil.

Well the engine air filter should be changed every 30,000 miles according to the owners manual. I assume the filter should be done the same. I wouldn't know if there were any benefits to increasing the frequency of which, my understanding being that a clean filter optimizes performance.
