hey guys! was wondering if this happened to anyone. 1 Year ago, I bought a movie Departed, and as soon as I bought it, I opened it in the car, and put it in the dvd changer. It has been in there for 1 year. Never took it out, and thought it would be in prestine condition. I played it a few times before, and it displayed really well.
I was stuck in the car in the parking lot, waiting for class to start. I turn on the dvd and wow it keeps getting fizzy, skips scenes, freezes at some points. I try another dvd and it works fine.
I take out the cd, and the bottom is scratched madly.... any takes on this?
for detailed info.... the dvd was on the 6th position out of the 6 cds u can put in.

I've not had this problem with CDs I've burned. I could see where a DVD might be more picky, but if it's visibly scratched, there's something not right.

maybe the dvd fairy borrowed your car....replaced the dvd with his own and left your dvd to get scratched up on the floor of the car. Then he replaced your dvd back into the number 6 slot when he was done joy riding your car????
just a thought

yeah I am looking at the scratches and they arent too severe... but there are these spots on the cds where I can't clean with towel and water. Its not a residue, it more looks like a spot made from high concentrated heat at that specific point. very interesting

I use DVD Decrypter to make iso copies of anything I buy just in case. I usually burn one, and use the burned copy instead of the original. The original goes back in the box and into permanent storage in the library.
