Just wanted some quick clarification..the DRL's are the same bulb as the high beams, but they are just at 30% lighting? So if I wanted to change the stock DRL's from the halogen to something else it would ultimately change the drl's and the high beams? thanks for the help..
Yes the DRLs are the high-beam bulb running at reduced power (the % of reduced seems to change depending who you ask, but since I had mine turned off I never cared enough to find out the real number)
but i have stock hid's and when i flip the high beam the pattern on my lows shoot upward. so if i put an led drl, to my understanding the drl won't high beam but i will still have a sorta high beam with my hids?

Yes, I believe the stock HIDs use a bixenon style projector, and when the high beams are turned on, both the halogen highs and the hid highs are activated via movement of a shield.
