Default Another Dash Rattles & Creaks Thread

First off, my car is no longer under warranty and I've tried searching for answers and ideas with no luck. Anyways, I've been pretty successful fixing all the rattles in my IS350 myself. However, I still have the rattle behind the steering wheel where it sounds like a mouse is running behind the cluster or something. If I push down on the dash on top of the cluster or push forward on the circular air vent, it stops. Anyone know how to remove the cluster or perhaps the circular air vent on the driver side? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

i had some rattles and squeaks coming from around my gauge cluster i got so mad because of it. i finally took it in and they said the cluster was rubbing on the dash and had no padding on it. and i had 2 broken clips (prob from me punching my dash to stop the rattles and squeaks) lol.... bt they replaced the clips and put some felt and silicone stuff in there and havent had anything since. its like having a new car. hope you get it fixed i know that crap is annoying.

Yea but a lot of people got it fixed through the dealer. My question is if anyone knows how to remove the vent or the cluster so I can fix it myself.

If you complained about it before your warranty was up and it was recorded as a complaint, I think they will fix it still.

I'm the 2nd owner. But I'll give it a shot through the vent.

just get used to it bro... go drive in one of your friends "lesser" cars, like a civic or mazda, ect... then drive in your car again and you'll appreciate your IS all the more.

little stupid creeks n' rattles are nothing compared to what other cars have and then some.

SUCCESS!!! I fixed the rattle behind the cluster/steering wheel. Now I have rattles in the glove box. It is true that everytime you fix a rattle you hear other ones lol.

I came from a DA Integra so I am more than happy and satisfied. But I travel a lot and it gets annoying sometimes especially when I'm on the phone. It's pretty simple to fix so might as well do it if it bugs you.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I have that same rattle behind the cluster/steering wheel. Can you PM how you were able to fix it yourself? Thanks

BTW, my car is no longer under warranty
