Help me out... DEALER STILL HASNT CALLED ME.
OK so last Friday i went to check out a Used IS350 2007. Its a X Package. So the dealer has the price listed at 24,500. They said they had it at 26,000 and they took it down to 24,500. But they did it with in a week or 2.
The car has 41,000 Miles on it. The car has a cigarette burn on the carpet in the front passenger seat, The passenger seat behind it has like a little scratch on the seat, 3 of 4 rims were scratched like someone hit the curb with it. No HID's. Everything else was good. The guy at the dealer said that they can Buff out the scratches on the rims and the paint on the car. its not that bad the scratch on the car. u can barely see it.
So my dad said how much can u guys bring it down and brought up all the problems wrong with it. (I'm buying this car on my own btw, he just gonna co-sign) So the dealer said that they will not bring the price from 24,500 at all.
So I'm looking for like 22 or 21 range.
What should i do? should i wait for a different used one to pop up? or should i get this one. How long does it take for a dealer to call you back?
I was thinking of getting a 09 but im trying to save money since im only 19.

like what? Those damages seem perfectly normal for your average driver who isn't a detail nut like the people on car forums. Curb rash? Minor scratches? Sounds like normal wear and tear to me. I'd be far more fearful of a heavily modded car.

Bro dont get desperate. I know that 24k for a "LEXUS" sounds like a deal but that is what the IS goes for used... Just be patient and another one in better condition might pop up..
Or go to another dealer. Find a used car at that dealer that matches THIS car. That way you can have 2 dealers fighting over you and lowering the price.

wait.... when you have x-pack you usually have the premium package don't you... you should have the HID... but.... if it doesnt.. seriously it's just a no-no... don't settle for something you're okay with.. settle for something that you like...

Why do you think the dealer is going to call you back? They said they weren't going to lower the price. The ***** in your court! If you want it, that's what it's going to cost you...

You'll have trouble finding what you want in the 21k - 22k price range at a Lexus dealer, especially if its CPO. You might find an 06 or an 07 (probably with more mileage then 41k though) in that price range if you check non-lexus used car dealers, or find one with higher mileage (probably above 70k miles to get it to the price range you want).
I bought my car less then a year ago (06 with 56k miles) and I wanted it in the same price range as you. I had to go slightly above my price range (23.5 with extended warranty to 100k (non-lexus warranty)) and the only reason I got the deal I did was I have a friend who is an auto broker who bought the car from a dealer and sold it to me at cost.

You may be able to buff out the scratches in the paint, but not the wheels - they will need to be sanded and touched up with paint. A good uphostery shop should be able to repair the carpet and buff the leather smooth on the seat. Ask them to do all this and CPO the car and go for it!

man i love this site. Very helpful. So im gonna go back again to the dealership and try to get it to 23,000.
@sktn thats exactly what they said they were gonna do to the rims.
What should i say if i wanna get it to 23k? should i offer 22k or just flat out tell them the price i want it for.
