I'm serious. I think black roofs are tacky. A black roof looks like carbon fiber or a glass panorama roof, and then you get up close and it's a disappointment, becuase it's not really either. And making your car hotter just in time for summer isn't exactly brilliant.
Matte black or any color vinyl all over the car is different, because it's clearly not trying to immitate carbon or a glass roof. Matte black and mirror vinyl can look pretty tasteful. Even that Veyron with the matte black and gold vinyl manages to pull it off.
If you're going to do vinyls, you'd be better off doing the whole car too, because it'll protect all of your paint, instead of just one panel. I'm thinking of doing my whole car matte black and chrome for fun.
