Hi guys,
I tried to search topics about vibration, buzzing, and rattling in this forum but I didn't find anything that was close to my problem.
So, I just bought a used 06 IS250MT. I hear buzzing noise coming from the gear stick, especially on the collar for reserve gear (the thing that you pull to shift into Reverse gear). It's driving me nuts.
Does anyone have this problem? If so, what did yall do? I tried fixing it by spraying thick-film lubricant but no use. I am having an appointment with Lexus dealer next week but I doubt that they can fix it for free. I have extended warranty anyway.
I'm considering buying this,

As suggested on FAQ section.

If no one never had this problem, recommendations will be great.

See if the noise is coming from the base of the shift lever. There are 4 screws holding down the guide plate (which prevents you from shifting into reverse without lifting up on the reverse collar). These may be loose. Or there are 4 more holding down the rubber shift boot. These may be loose also. Just a suggestion since you mentioned the noise from around this area.
If you don't already know how to get to them, remove the shift **** by unscrewing it. Then, remove the rear console panel (panel section with the cup holder). Just pull this up since it's held in with plastic tabs. Next, remove the front console panel (the section with the shift boot). This pulls up and towards the rear and is held in with similar plastic tabs. From here, you should be able to access the rubber boot. Under the rubber boot is the guide plate.
Hope this helps.

I just did it. Disassembling the console made the noise more apparent. I'm certain the noise is coming from the reversing gear. Whenever I touched the collar, the noise was reduced (my finger served as a damper).
Does anyone know how to disassemble the collar? I tried it by pushing the pin but it was so hard.
Below is the image with a little bit explanation.
