250 vs VW Passat...
hey guys
my friends getting his '98 VW Passat, i think its a 1.8L 4 cylinder
not exaclty sure yet, could be the 2.8L 6cylinder tho...
his 100% convinced he would own me and my 250, from stand still's and rolling starts (rolling start im more confident with)
what do u guys recon, ive seen IS250's do low - mid 7seconds
im thinking he could beat me with the 2.8, but surely, i can beat the 1.8
if i cant thats really embarrassing,
and whats the best way to launch the auto IS250?
even if he does beat me, my car still looks better,
oh and i know the 250 isnt a fast car, just its the stupid australia rules that say i can't drive a car with over 200kw (270hp give or take) and it cant be turbo, supercharged, or have more than 6cylinders!!!!
so the best cars i can drive for the next two years are:
IS250, 325 E46, 330 E46, RX8, Civic Type R
but when i get off my P License im getting a 350, or F,

ahahaha, nice to know guys
but we're probably gonna have 3 friends in each car, so the times would be a bit slower, but still i would win!
i think the 250 is one of the fastest P plate cars u can get, along with the Civic Type R and RX8 (not modded)
i also read, for off the line accel, just to leave the car in D and with ECT on normal for the fastest time
but for rolling starts would it be better to leave it in ECT PWR?
i wish the 2IS's were easier to get some more power out of!!!
saving for a HKS Hi Power exhaust!

Here are the numbers.
1998 Passat 1.8 L 123 HP @ 5800 RPM 0 - 60 MPH: 11.1 seconds
1998 Passat 1.8 L-T 150 HP @ 5700 RPM 0 - 60 MPH: 8.9 seconds
So even the turbocharged '98 Passat would be decimated by the IS250.
The most powerful Passat available to date can get you from 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds which is pretty ****ing fast, but fortunately this is irrelevant to your scenario.

You're retarded if your going to be racing with passengers in the car. If you gonna race do it on your own so if anything is to happen you'll be the only one injured and nobody else.

Lexus Champion
iTrader: (10)
So he's only purchasing the car to race you on the regular streets and highway? He's a tool, and a childish one if he keeps saying that he can smoke you before he even gets it...Reminds me of my cousin...when he was 10 years old.
I prefer driving safely by my self and if others try provoking me I just slow down and stick to the speed limit and if they pursue, I exit. Although on long drives I do speed and take calculated risks.

i actually drove one of those passats and they are kinda peppy but still slow even if he has a stick shift he may get a good launch but your AWD will sadly rape his turbo over and OVER again :P
