Did I make good deal on my IS250?
#16
I knew it! The sales associates was keep telling me how this car has everything and I am getting a bargain for full option IS250. Still, I love the car
Here are some noob question:
1.) Do I change oil every 5,000 miles? How much is oil change?
2.) Do I need to service the car with this mileage?
3.) What color is my car?
4.) Can I go to Toyota AND Lexus for warranty?
5.) what is the Routine maintenance of this car? (e.g: spark plugs, air filter, etc.)
I owned Audi A4 before so I don't know too much about Lexus.

warranty service (ie repairs you don't pay for) will only be at a Lexus dealer.
Anything YOU pay for (oil changes for example) you can have done anywhere (or do yourself).
Now, what the car actually needs done (and when) by the book-
Every 5k miles- Oil change (realistically, with non-severe-duty driving it's good for 7500-10k miles between changes on conventional, or 1/yr changes on a good synthetic)
Every 15k miles- check engine/air filters (these take 5 minutes each to change, never pay someone to look at or change these)
Every 30k- Change brake fluid (Personally I'd say every 2 years regardless of where your mileage is- brake fluid takes on moisture with time regardless of miles)
Every 60k- Change spark plugs
Every 100k- Change coolant
That's it.
Anything else a dealer tells you you need as far as scheduled service, he's lying. Transmission fluid is good for the life of the car (and can't be changed anyway); differential fluid never calls for a change. Car doesn't have power steering fluid.
Obviously wear items will need to be changed when they're actually worn out (brake pads, wiper blades, etc) but there's no official schedule for em, depends how much and how hard you use em.
