Default "adaptive headlights"

I've been pretty ignorant to some aspects of my IS's options.

And even after 3 years I have yet to read the manual aside from looking up particular things. Now I cant even locate it.

I take "adaptive headlights" to mean this: WHen I turn to the left my left headlight kind of moves to point left then evens back out when the car does.

My questoin is: Should the right side do this too? Since day one I've noticed the right side does not move/"adapt." Not that it's a big deal, obviously, but...should it?

It does move when turning right but only about 5 degrees. The left turns about 20 that's why you'll notice it moving around more. Reason being it turns more going left is that the A pillar obstructs most of the view (or so I've read).

the left headlight is aimed lower so it doesnt blind oncoming traffic so it probably needs to move more as well. the right side illuminates more of that side as is since its aimed higher.

Wow, glad I found this out. I too thought my right headlight was messed up. Nice to know that how it was built.
