There are no real problems with the IS. Just minor recall/TSB stuff which mostly all owners and dealers have taken care of. Lexus are known to be tomb quiet, so if this one was loud, the engine was either cold and not warmed up or something else was wrong. The first thing most people say about Lexus is how quiet they are.

braking shouldn't be crappy at all, my car brakes nearly perfectly in my opinion.
Look out for any body work... just because it's a CPO doesn't mean it is free from body work... something many people including myself didn't pay much attention to.

I know when I first got my IS, I thought the noise from the DI fuel pump (slight groaning noise you can hear from outside the car) was a bad pulley or something... ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
The Lexus dealer re-assured me that the noise was 100% normal, and they checked everything over anyway...

thanks guys. they replaced the brake pads after the CPO inspection and it's better now. there was a $299 document fee they wouldn't budge on waiving. anybody else get their's waived?
