Default Side part of center console 'clicks' when hit

Sorry for another squeak and rattle thread, but I searched and couldn't find the answer. I have an IS 250 loaner while my F is being serviced and in both cars, when my knee hits a certain part of the center console, it seems to push the silver part into the vertical part of the center console and makes this annoying click-click noise. It happens on both the driver and passenger side.

Is there an easy fix for this? I'm pretty tall and there's not a lot of space for my knee other than where it sits in the photo.

Thanks for your help!

Happens on passenger side on my car when my tall friend sits. His knees tend to bump into it and makes the noise.

The noise is probably from the clips or clamps where the fitment of the panels meet.

That piece pops out easily if you pull back on it, towards the rear of the vehicle... a plastic pry tool might be needed to get it out.

Pop it out, make sure everything is firm in there, and reseat it... you could also stick some felt in there to cushion.
