Default What now??? (Startup noise returned 15k miles after TSIB performed)

Ok so I have that awful engine sound at start up after the car sits about 1 hour. Some times its REALLY bad... But I already got the service for it done like 15k miles ago....... I told the dealer last week that it was still there. All I got was "well we did the TSB already so theres nothing else we can do"

..... What do I do now??? Do I demand that they fix it? Im at 55k miles..

You're still under your power train warranty and the Cam Shaft issue is covered under warranty. Even if they have done it already there have been revised parts since the TSB was issued and some people have reported the problem coming back and needing the work repeated. You need to take your car back to them and if they refuse call Lexus Corporate.

Revised parts hu....... Well my SA was looking it up see if things had changed but at the end he said the only change was to include other model years..

I just think I keep getting the run around at the dealer. This is because my car has had LOTS of problems. So I get the feeling that they give me excuses because they have spent a LOT of money on my car already... Its the only dealer in town so I am stuck with them....

So how do I approach my SA about this with out sounding like a complete a$$....????

if they can replicate the problems... they have to change it... you can lemon it too if the problem is persistent... if they really are being a pain talk to the manager

Just take it back. Tell them it happens intermittently. Plus since they installed the new cam actuators and it didn't fix the problem they are stuck with it till it is fixed. Powertrain should go up to 70K. Curious your normally hearing it during cold starts?

Really noob at this...

I have the same problem. I'm at 30k miles.
(I got this car at 27k miles. Its a CPO)
What should I tell the dealership?
Is it the cam shaft or the gasket?

No to me it has pretty much nothing to do with the weather. It happens almost every time i turn it on after it sits for a hour or so. Even when its warm. I plan on video taping it a few time and taking it to Lexus.

Just tell them you have a click/noise at start up and they should know whats going on and fix it.
