Default Anyone rewire the shift lever direction?

I'm of the belief that pushing forward to upshift and pulling backward to downshift is bass-ackward, so I'd like to reverse this in my '07.

I've been using the paddles exclusively because of this, but read in another thread that using the shift **** yields a bit snappier shift (which we all know this tranny could use).

Are there maybe a couple wires or jumpers somewhere near the shifter linkage that can be reversed to allow this? And if so, hopefully it wouldn't interfere with the left/right paddle scheme...

Any info would be great, thanks

i do believe its in the FAQ, ISBU did it on my car, it involves just switching 2 wires on the harness where the shifter plugs in to... the harness.

nice, cool that you had it done.
your paddles were unaffected, right? I looked in FAQ & searched, but couldn't find anything

Here ya go....https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...with-pics.html

And correct the paddles are unaffected

edit: also, another option is the Tom's kit, which for a relatively nominal amount (~$50 or so) quick-connects between two connectors and reverses the logic.........and it also includes some new stickers to go over the +/- to show proper orientation

I bought the TOM's GT shifter some time ago and I have always loved it.

Once you get used to the OEM setup you don't even think about which way you're pushing it. I use it all the time to help shed speed. I never use the paddles.

just reverse the wiring if you dont want to spend $ on the toms wiring. all you have to do is open up the center console area and find the (purple and pink?) wires near the shifter. theres a thread on here somewhere that explains how to do it.

I have gotten used to the shift logic. I used it a lot when I first got the car, but barely use it now since I spend more time in traffic than going on fun canyon runs or cruises.

A little time with the stock way and you'd get used to it. Just like any other feature inside.

Nope, just the TOM's decal. The + and - decals would look tacky on the shifter console IMO.

It's already available, so I would much rather use the TOM's module than mess with the stock harness. It took me literally 10 minutes to disassemble the center console, install the module, and reassemble the console. If you're skilled enough to modify the harnesses yourself then go for it!
