hmm i thought the drls were part of the lexus personalized settings which you could turn off if you wanted? if not then take out the bulb and reinstall the plug into the headlights!

No--they CAN be turned off, but they are NOT on the LPS list.

Replace 'em with LEDs. It'll look better and will be unnoticeable during daytime.

if you pull out one of your drl bulbs, the lights will not be on when you drive but you will still be able to use your high beams with one bulb...

Haha, that's an interesting, albeit ghetto, solution.

OP: Remember, if you replace your DRLs with LEDs, you lose high beam functionality.

I tried getting dealerships to turn it off but they wanted >$100 to do so. I can live with it on, I never drive in front of my car anyways so I don't even get to see it whether it is on or off. And it's off when I'm outside when the car is off.

Here is good comprehensive list of what settings can be adjusted on the IS. Most of these are NOT considered LPS choices. Page 4 shows the choice on the DRL function (on/off). Print this out and take it to the dealer. Some dealers don't know about it or are cautious because of potential liability concerns. It is NOT required in any state or by Federal regulations to have DRL's so they can LEGALLY be turned off anywhere in the US. Talk to the tech and explain that you want them turned off. My dealer's tech claimed he didn't think it was possible but after I gave him the list he realized it was a legitimate option and he found the code to turn them off. No problems.
