I used to see plastic cover (like food's plastic wrap) on top of the carpet on the floor of new cars. I asked the service manager at the Lexus dealer and they told me they don't sell them. Does any one know where to buy them?

 

Try Home Depot in the paint department, I saw it there theother day.

 

The plastic I saw on new cars, it stick on one side (like packing tapes) so it can stick on the carpet. I will try to ask homedepot one day but doubt it.

 

We use it at work as we work on Semis and we buy it at home depot. So do not doubt it - be a believer.

Please don't do it. It looks ugly and tacky like putting plastic wrap on sofa.

 

I used it when I went on a long trip (and I got it at Home Depot). That stuff is a sticky mess (but it doesn't leave a residue). I probably wouldn't use it again just because it's kind of difficult to install. Just my two cents.

 

I stopped by the Homedepot yesterday and saw it there. They sell in roll like the food plastic wrap for $12.99. I decided to buy a set of All weather floor mat instead. Thanks everyone!

 

I went to Walmart and bought clear floormats and laid them on top of my Lexus mats. It works well. I've done this on a previous RX330, my 07IS and my HS250h/Premium. No stuck accelerator pedal etc. These clear mats keep the Lexus mats in new condition and allow the Lexus mats to show through. Just another idea for you.

I know this is late, but just for the record you can also order the plastic wrap stuff online and it works much better than the home depot stuff. We use it all the time for wet weather and ski trips.
