Question about these warranties -- are they *generally* worth it on this car (i.e. has anyone had experiences where they had repairs before 100k that cost more than the cost of the warranty)?
The reason I ask is that with the Japanese cars I've had in the past, I never went extended warranty, and I never had problems until after 7-8 years and 130k miles or so, then the cost of repairs might have been $1,500-2000. I've been told the warranties make more sense with VW, Audi, BMW etc., but my own experience with brands that are known for good reliability shows that it's really a bit of a gamble where the odds are in favor of the dealership.
Is there something about this car that would contradict my past experience? Also I should say most of my cars I bought new and was the sole owner, maybe if I bought used and didn't know the cars full history the ext. warranty would buy me some peace of mind?
