The e46 m3 was my previous ride. It was a great car for going fast and cornering. It just stayed planted. I had a Dinan stage 2 pack on it as well. The car was great but my 350 now has so much more luxury items for everyday use. I especially love the esay to use nav and seat coolers. I have a daughter so rear seat is great.

I would just sell the M3. I would never want to own a German car out of warranty.

I do not actually own the M3 now. I sold the M3 for the IS350 because of 4doors & a kid on the way. But it I just keep going back looking at the e46's thinking I made a mistake. I guess what i miss the most is being able to slam gears every day!!

You'll get it somehow. Here's a little helping hand.

Biased against M3 here, but that's mostly because I'm more of a sucker for looks and not all that gravy that you can't see =)

E46 looks dated to me, regardless of M status or not. IS looks better to me. Newer model M3, though may not win any awards like the old one, looks 400x sexier.

For most that would be true. I miss the sports car feel of my former DD which I drove for 18 years. I was getting a little tired of the harsh, loud ride of my modified MR2 turbo as my Daily driver so when I started looking to retire my daily driver and turn it into a weekend driver, I told myself i would not get another sports car for a daily driver.for example:370Z or Corvette. I love my IS350, but it's a little bit too soft for my taste, so I lowered it and got some fsport bars (somewhat fixed that problem). Then it seemed a bit too quiet. Tanabe exhaust took care of that issue. Powerwise, it's more than enough.

I really wanted the 6 speed manual is250, but I felt it was a bit underpowered especially with the whole family in the car. I test drove 2 different 6spd IS250's and second gear was so notchy, I just couldn't pull the trigger on spending 35k on a car that had a tacoma truck tranny. I'm a diehard stickshift person and it's killing me having an auto, it really affects the personality of the car.

The looks of the IS350 is Sexy as hell.... To be honest, in my opinion the exterior of the IS and 3 series is a toss up in my book. Interior is nicer in the IS but BMW is nice as well (better than chevy or ford).

My wife wants my car and she is in need of a newer car, so if she really wants it and does not mind letting me purchase another car, I might get a 328i coupe or sedan with the M package. I guess I want a big go-kart. Heck, I was thinking of special ordering one in Red with Black leather, sport package with the bigger rims and tires and HID's, that's it. I don't care for the Sunroof, Navigation, Ipod, Xm radio crap

My personal choice?

IS350 w/ F-sport Shocks, Springs, and Sway bar set.

You'll get E46 M3-like handling along with the amenities of having a Lexus.

The pictures busting out....so many sexy cars out there....and this is a very wise comment here sir!!!

See i do have my integra which is in my sig and that is my weekend beast. If i feel the need for speed and potential to kill myself, thats where i go as it is a go kart w/ a turbo!! I just miss the ability to go home from work, slam 2nd gear and have the *** end get all squirrly!!

I would DD the IS for sure... M3 is nice but not as comfy I think... the seats were on the hard side in the M3 I drove a couple times... buy a motorcycle its cheaper that's what I did
