Default Second Oil Change (10k)

Alright guys, my second oil change is just around the corner and I was going to bring it to the dealer. When i called to schedule my appointment, the representative told me they use a blend of synthetic / regular oil . o.O ... He also told me that I could bring my own oil so thats what Im going to do.

So my question for you guys is.... What type of Oil is best for the 2009 is350 ?

Thanks

You can take it to any rep mechanic and he can change the oil for half the price of the stealership.

IMHO and I went through researching the same question, if you stick with the 5k mileage/6 month intervals there is very little reason to switch to synthetic. The great advantage of synthetic is that it doesn't break down as quickly. If you are changing it every 5k that doesn't come into play.

Also, please, please do not let the dealer wash your car. They will hack it all up and leave swirls all over it.

1. Ill change your oil.
2. Never wash your car at dealership. They use hard liquids( soap used to wash wheels) to break down the dirt. And you'll have 200x the swirls.
3. I use mobil 1 fully synthetic extended performance. The most expensive oil there is. Walmart ftw!

it is free car wash only if:
1. you bring the car in
2. the stealership washes your car
3. you drive your car off

Stealership calls it free car wash BUT you already pay for it as part of the "hidden" labor charge.

Best? Amsoil.

The problem is you appear to be wanting to change it every 5k miles... which is a lot more often than even conventional needs to be changed on the 2IS, and about 5x more often than Amsoil needs to be changed.

So my general advice is do one of these two things:

Use Amsoil, change 1/yr up to 25k miles.

or

Use the cheapest possible stuff you can find, change every 5k.
