Default Help with FOGLIGHT HOUSINGS

Hey guys i need some help with getting to the foglight housings. I put em in the oven for 10 mins at 200F and tried prying it open but couldnt. Is there something im doing wrong? Are there hidden screws somewhere or something or do i just gotta really go at it hard and pry it off..? I searched the forum for a diy or tutorial but couldnt find anything.

there are no screws. i used a heat gun and it felt like the thing wouldn't come apart. give it more heat or more time in the oven. it will eventually come apart.

200 degrees fahrenheit is too low. Try 300-350 for about 7-8 minutes in the oven. Have an oven mitt ready and just gently pry - it should be very easy and pliable. If there is a lot of resistance, put it back in the oven.

I would not recommend a heat gun, as it is too hard to heat anything evenly with them. (One part will have softened but an adjacent area is gummy, for example) Having used both the oven and heat gun methods, oven is far easier to use.

Don't be afraid of a little heat. Remove the bulb and put that sucker in. If it's hard to take apart, you w/ill end up ith a sticky mess everywhere, as it will not come apart without tearing into thin strands. Set it to a higher temperature and you will overcome this problem.
