Help. Cracked windshield
I was washing my car when this happened. Is there a hotline to call those people with the truck/van to come and fix this?

If you say repair, then no. You can't repair a crack/chip that is larger than a square or two inch in diameter.
In California, most glass repair will refuse work on the driver's side of the windshield. Probably CA law. I asked 2 different glass companies, and both said the same thing.
Sorry to say that you'll have to do a replacement... Check with your auto insurance, most will cover it without deductible. Mine gives me a once-a-year of chip repair for free or $80 bucks to replace windshield that can't be repaired.

calling the insurance for a replacement is pointless...most companies will throw the deductible in there for replacement. If it is repairable, which in your case its not, insurance will reimburse or pay around 40-60 dollars.

A few months ago I got a small crack, probably less than the size of a finger print. I got it sealed. The repair man told me that the original windshield is better than the replacement because of the seal around the windshield. He said after a few year after the replacement , the seal around will leak and cause wind sound inside the cabin. Can anyone confirm if this is true or myth? thx (he got a point though)

My point is that you can get wind noise from an improperly installed windshield OEM or not.
Hope this helps
