People should differently take advantage of the replacement under warranty. You get a whole brand new panel. Good thing because the cup holder panel had a bunch of scratches on it from getting in and out of the car and spots on the leather from the previous owner. That and if it happens out of warranty its going to be costly to fix. I'm not even sure if someone can reupholster the leather trim or you would have to replace the whole panel? I would think you can but better safe then sorry to just replace now for free.

I had my front passenger door panel replaced twice for the leather lifting. Warranty covered it both times but still not happy that it happened.

Update

They are going to change my cam gears and the gears should be here tomorrow. I will be getting the car back on Tuesday. Now I'm more tempted to take the loaner car out of town.

Also the service adviser told me that my front brakes needed to be change and it would cost me $260 for the service. Is this worth it or should I buy the pads and change them myself?

For the brake pads, I'd take them to a non-Lexus dealer; even a Toyota dealer. If you are mechanically sound, just change them yourself.

I got the car back recently and my driver door panel looks great (new). No bubble in the leather and no scratches on the bottle/paper holder panel. They also change the cam gears but I don't really notice anything different. I do notice the ticking sound on the top left of the engine but I read that it was because of the injector. I didn't pay attention to the engine noise much until I got the car back. The car has been at the dealer and body shop more than I had in my garage since owning it. I just want to make sure everything is "perfect" and running smoothly. They also clean the internal of the engine while they had it apart so I would think they clean the carbon build up too if there was any.

The front brakes has 6mm left so he said it was good but suggested that I replace them because they were glazed which is why they made a squeak sound on a cold run. Said I didn't have to if it didn't bother me and that I should have another 10k miles left on them. Also told me that the rotor has a little lip as well. But didn't make it sound like it was bad for a resurface or replacement.

I had them check the f-sport spring recall on the clunk noise but the tech said he couldn't hear it on bumps. He told me I could bring it back anytime and they can check it again with me in the car. I don't remember it being bad but if there is a replace spring why not get the new ones?

When I got the car back it was very dusty because I told them I didn't want them to wash the car for me and he did make a big note of it. Told me he felt bad giving me a dirty car.

I don't really miss the ES350 loaner but there were some options it had that I liked very much. The auto tilt steering wheeling, memory seating, and the audio bluetooth. I don't know if the parking sensor was a good thing or a bad thing. I like how it worked but it would also make me lazy and not look at my surrounding when parking. Even my old SC400 had the auto tilt steering wheel and memory seat. The audio bluetooth would connect instantly to my iphone and play the last song it was on and I could still make and receive calls too. Has anyone done a audio bluetooth mod yet?

About the door panels. The new one you get will be slightly shinier than the rest of the interior because it's new and the rest of the car has dulled up. It's not real obvious, but if you compare the transition between the two, it's somewhat noticeable. Maybe in a few years the whole thing will blend together more as it all ages.

Leather bubbling off the door panel is a factory defect and covered under the standard warranty. Or at least it is here in the US.

I too have an '06 Obsidian Black, and I just noticed there is a tiny spot on my passenger door that is starting to pop up. I am also outside of the warranty

Default Door Armrest Bubbling?

2008 IS350, door armrest is bubbling. Has anyone else had this before?

Sorry for the crappy phone pic.

Hopefully this would be a warranty item?
