With normal settings on, there is practically no sound coming from the rear speakers (only the rear tweeter). I read a thread about this not too long ago, but I can't find it anymore.

Is this normal? And how is it fixed?

Not trying to be a smartass, but you verified that you're not using fade to move the sound to the front, right?

No fade used. The "crosshairs" are exactly in the middle of the car; in the "default" position.

I've lived with it too, as I never ride in the back of my car. But it just seems odd that barely any sound would come from the rear.

If you are comparing fronts being louder than rears then this is the way the speakers were designed.

I felt this way when I first got my car & sat in the back, then I realized (Correct me if I'm wrong) that only Mark Levinson equipped IS's had speakers on the rear deck (behind the rear headrests)

non ML cars have 3 speakers in each door and 1 sub in the trunk...

ML cars have 3 speakers in each front door, 2 in each rear door, 2 in the rear shelf, 1 sub, an 1 center in the mid front dash.

normal, at least for me. I sat in the back of my car once and thought something was wrong. Compared to a co-workers IS250 and same deal, quiet in back.
